Celebrating Cultures and Togetherness at Our School

At our school, we don’t just learn, we celebrate! From colourful dances to glowing diyas and twinkling lights, festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Garba, Diwali, Eid, and Christmas turned our campus into a joyful blend of culture, laughter, and learning.

The celebrations began with Ganesh Chaturthi, where creativity led the way. The festival was introduced by our PYP learners, who beautifully depicted the story of Lord Ganesha. Their energetic dance performance filled the campus with devotion, joy, and enthusiasm, marking a vibrant start to the festive season.

Soon after, the school floor became the dance floor during Garba. Dressed in traditional Indian attire, children twirled, clapped, and garba-ed their hearts out, talk about desi beats and happy feet.

Next came Diwali, which was nothing short of lit. Our talented didis added colour with rangoli and diya painting competitions, while PYP students staged a lively skit showing how Lord Ram defeated Ravan, a bright reminder that good always wins.

Adding a fun twist, Halloween was celebrated the Indian way. Children dressed up as various characters such as cricketers, princesses, Indian celebrities with spooky powers, marching around the campus and spreading excitement with their creative costumes.

As the festive spirit continued, Eid was celebrated with warmth and reflection, helping children understand the values of gratitude, sharing, togetherness, and encouraging respect for different traditions and cultures.

Children’s Day was packed with cheer and delight, games, giggles, and a popcorn movie made the day just right!

The celebrations concluded with the cheer and sparkle of Christmas, which had us jingling all the way. Teachers enacted a heartwarming skit on the birth of Jesus Christ, followed by a fun Quiz, singing carols with the music team, enjoying games planned by the parents, and getting crafty with Christmas art made the celebration truly tree-mendous.

Through these celebrations, children not only learned about different cultures and traditions but also experienced fun, laughter, respect, and togetherness. Celebrating diversity at school helps build open-mindedness, joy, and a sense of belonging, making learning truly meaningful and magical. With many more celebrations still to come, the fun, learning, and festive spirit at our school is far from over!
